"All we want is an opportunity, not a handout, but an opportunity to
provide for ourselves"
It was these words, spoken by a local Nepalese woman, together with a shared passion to create lasting change in developing communities that saw the creation of Dinadi, a social enterprise based in Nepal.
We are proud to present our latest collaboration with this wonderful factory.
Based in Nepal, where unemployment currently sits around 46%, 25% of the population live below the poverty line, and an estimated 13000 young girls a year are trafficked to brothels in India, Dinadi gives disadvantaged women an opportunity to escape this destiny through the financial independence they achieve by learning how to knit. Creating ethical employment opportunities, whilst also celebrating the role of the artisan, who has so carefully handcrafted each item.
As a sign of respect, each product carries a label, hand signed by its maker. Our beautiful beanies are lovingly crafted from a rich mix of bamboo viscose and fine merino wool.
